Lots of fun today with @CnaG_Ghlaschu in @lomondtrossachs for their #JohnMuirAward creating their own #NationalPark (in #gaelic of course).

Operation Play Outdoors in Glasgow deliver the John Muir Award through Branching Out, Forestry Commission Scotland’s innovative programme for adults who use mental health services in Scotland. Recently, the group enjoyed getting out and about on the Kelvin Walkway taking part in a photo walk, pooh sticks and some Muir-related art.

Loch Lomond & The Trossachs National Park's Visitor Policy & Engagement Team have been adding to the conservation of wild spaces through their own John Muir Award.

The Visitor Policy & Engagement Team from Loch Lomond & The Trossachs National Park explored wild spaces in the Park to help them understand some of Muir's well known quotes. "The Award has allowed me to refocus on what is really important both personally and professionally and reawakened an enthusiasm and energy I will endeavour to weave into every part of my life again.” (staff member)

As part of their Staff Award, the Loch Lomond & The Trossachs Visitor Policy and Engagement Team got the ferry across the Lake of Menteith to explore the historical island of Inchmahome.

The Loch Lomond & The Trossachs National Park Authority Visitor Policy and Engagement Team made their own Andy Goldsworthy inspired environmental art using natural elements they found on Inchmahome. Many of the members were influenced by the colours, textures and shapes that were found in nature and enjoyed searching deeper into their wild place - noticing things that they might have missed when just walking through the space.

Discovering the wild places in amongst trees and crags around Lawrencefield on the edge of the Peak District National Park. Beastie Shelters help to create habitats for insects, rodents and hibernating animals as we head towards winter.
