National Parks

National Parks were set up for both people and nature. They provide places for recreation and wellbeing, as well as places for wildlife and nature.

National Parks aim to:

  • conserve and enhance the natural beauty, wildlife and cultural heritage
  • promote opportunities for the understanding and enjoyment of the special qualities of National Parks

Additionally, National Parks in Scotland aim to:

  • promote sustainable use of natural resources of the area
