Today we done birch removal birch is a kind of tree the only reason we cut it down is because they take up carbon and also takes up water of the soil we also got whoppers to cut down the tree there were rules on using the loppers the rules were keep a blood bubble don't let anyone invade your space,always point them facing the ground and no bigger then your thumb it was really enjoyable to do :]

Today we learned stuff about peat like the age of it. To see the age of the peat you need rods to put in the ground. Each rod is one metre long each metre is 1000 years. We discovered 2000 years worth of peat has been removed from Ester inch moss.

We have been measuring peat. Peat has many lairs peat is 4000 years old . And people have been burning peat so now there is still fire there. Peat trap carbon which is good but when
you burn it gets out.

Day 2 of John Muir. Today we explored the Easter Inch Moss it is made of peat. In the Easter Inch Moss we cut down some trees that was hurting the Easter Inch Moss, I cut down about 30 or 40 trees and there were big trees and little trees. We used loppers to cut down the trees and he also taught us about a blood bubble around each person and if you go in 1 meter of that blood bubble then you get the loppers taken off of you.
