Wings students have been selecting and cutting down poles for a charcoal burners hut we are building on site. They've worked together using a variety of tools to cut, trim and shape the poles we need. This is part of managing a woodland and we have left the trimmed branches as a possible habitat.

Today we went out into the school grounds and observed the wildlife near our Bird-boxes! Once we had done this we began creating our wall display, this is the way we have chosen to share our experience with other pupils in our school. We still have a lot to add, but think it will look great once its finished!

We have now started our spoons and bowls in preparation for our wild winter feast.

Baby squirrels are blind, they open their eyes between 5 and 6 weeks of age. In the wild they continue to nurse until they are about 10 to 12 weeks old. At that time, they are pretty much on their own and will return to the nest for safety and rest. We explored this with our fun nutty squirrels game
