Porpoise popping
Out of the paradise sea
Seals staring
at you and me
as we came to join them
In that deep blue sea

On Sunday me and my dad and sister went camping in Northumberland we camped close to Seahouses. While we were there we went on a boat trip to the Farne islands where we saw lots of seals. We also went to Lindisfarne we got there by crossing the causeway which was really cool. While we were there we saw various bird species such as curlew, shag and starling. We went and walked on the beach near Seahouses as well where where we found fossils which was really interesting.

Today the pupils of P7 were introduced to The John Muir award. They learned about a brief history of the award and who John Muir was. They learned about the four elements and decided they how they would achieve each one.
They then explored the school grounds and shared their discoveries with each other.

On Wednesday I did a holiday club with the Holyrood Park Rangers. I've been doing these every Wednesday in the holidays for the past couple of years we do all sorts of outdoor activities such as bushcraft, geology, learning about the people who used to live there.
This time we went on quite a long walk and created a mandala inspired by Andy Goldsworthy and we also made oatcakes over an open fire. I'm going to see if i can get a copy of the photo of the mandala we made.
We also saw a rabbit with myxomatosis the illness was very advanced so its eyes were swollen shut and it was moving very slowly. I learnt that they separated themselves from their colony to protect the others because they're social animals.

On Tuesday I went to Corstorphine Hill with my mum and sister. We took a new route that I hadn't realised was there but we looped back to a bit I recognised. We went to the Rest And Be Thankful lookout point where there was a sign with information about the local wildlife. Also on the sign was a quote from ''Kidnapped'' by Robert Louis Stevenson as this was the point that the characters Davy and Alan Breck parted ways. When I read the book I never realised that was a real place and so close to where I live.

The route we took looped past the zoo and we went past the wallaby enclosure and they were very close to the fence so we saw them well. THEY WERE FLUFFY
