The pupils at St Peter's made posters to explain the purpose of the Scottish Access Code.

Here we are making our pictures!

We were making art with natural materials like moss, bark, sticks, stones and feathers. There were alot of different designs; some people did a bird, others made a car. There also was a tv with a sofa and another was a beautiful little wood. We enjoyed finding the natural things in the woods that would make our pictures special!

We took a trip over to RSPB Geltsdale to participate in the great woodland regeneration work being done there. Our job was to cut tree tubes shorter so that the young saplings had space to sway in the breeze and grow stronger. We also tied them up with zipties to prevent them snapping. We followed up with a chance to learn about the different species of tree found on the reserve and why they have been planted there. Perhaps the highlight of the day was nursing a poorly bumblebee back to life with sugar water in the car park. Thanks to Ian Ryding and Jill Jones from the RSPB for helping out on the day.

Putting up my hand made sign for SAMH's crystalis wildflower garden, in partnership with Bonnie Dundee and Seeds of Hope.

For our first session we walked the site and collected colourful bits and pieces. When we arrived in the woods we arranged them to make beautiful pieces of art.
