One of Mr Nicol’s neighbours has spotted a fox around the back of their houses. Mr Nicol has borrowed a trail cam to try and catch some images.There are some photos of a wee beach walk too.

Been out of sorts with snow and mid term break. Here’s some of the photos Mr Nicol took for the group while not in work. This is the Kinghorn loch again

Family walk experiencing sea mist and a different beach now that a lot of sand has been eroded from Saundersfoot and Wiseman Bridge shores. Talked about ways to try to conserve beaches. Discussed the history of how so many different types of rock come to be on the beach,carried as ballast from coaling ships.Walked a back route via Summerhill into Colby and it's surroundings. Trip to Amroth with its plastic fish and reminder of the effects of ocean plastic. Meander home over sand and a more rapid scramble over rock , no time to admire the anemones as tide coming in fast. Just a quick glimpse at the various rock strata before reaching the safety of the beach at Wisemans again the sea mist finally burnt away by late afternoon.

We held discussions about soil & soil diversity and watched some interesting online clips about soil biodiversity, why soil matters, micro-organism's and animals that are found in the soil. We PH tested our own garden soil and looked at our soil types and then we had fun looking under a stone to see what we could find!

We had a discussion about birds local to us, looked at a local bird identification guide and how we can make our gardens more bird 'friendly'. We made a bird feeder using a recycled juice bottle, hung it in our gardens took photos of visiting birds.

We have been discussing the outdoor access code and the responsibilities we have when exploring the outdoors, we watched some online video clips and shared some great examples. One of our groups had an interesting discussion regarding a recent incident of sheep worrying in one of our local villages and how this is contained in the outdoor access code

We have been learning about what makes our gardens wild and Biodiversity in our gardens. We looked for different items in our gardens/ wild places that we found interesting and stuck them to a board, which we then discussed. We explored how a tree supports a range of insects, birds and mammals and enjoyed taking part in an online quiz
