John Muir day 2Sustrans I Bike 24 Apr
Today was day 2 at John Muir. We did a lot of activities such as bingo how fires are dangerous when you light it on peat. You may think that it is not harmful to the world but if the flames are out the peat could burn for up To 10 years and that not good for us we all enjoyed our day at John Muir.

Primary 5/6/7 ‘s adventure at Easter egg inch moss and they enjoyed it. It was very dirty 💩. Jokes away, to me it was quite warm🌝. We had to cut down trees to help the moss. We dug down to see how old the peat was (hard to explain) we got to 4,000 years old🙊. We played bingo trying to find the different animals or plants to win! But we didn’t really have enough time 😢. We travelled there and back on scooters. No primary 5s falling of trees this time😃. Thanks for reading! 🛴
FireSustrans I Bike 24 Apr
We went a part in Easter Inch Moss. We learned about what happened to the peat. What happened was the placed got on fire but we don't know when it happened. The place was covered in ash. People where walking in it and there shoes became black. When the person set the ground on fire the peat under ground is still on fire. When we stand on it smoke was floating. It can harm animals because it could kill them.

We learned that the peat moss is one of the most protected areas in Scotland. We chopped down birch trees because they are invasive 🌳. We measured how old the peat was and discovered it was 4000 years old. Then we had snack. After we walked down peat moss and we found a bit that had been set on fire because someone used flint and steel 🔥then we came back and wrote this blog. BY Eilidh🐼
