Footprint tunnels

We share our site with lots of people and animals, there is a busy market garden, beautiful flower beds and space for the donkeys, goats, chickens and Flora the pig. But we want to know if anyone visits the wild spaces, the meadow, the woodland. This week we built footprint tunnels, we made a safe paint, with charcoal from our fire pit mixed with vegetable oil, and we set them with bird seed and cat food. They are well hidden around the space and we can't wait to see if we have any little visitors over the week. We also made a start on our map, each week we collect natural materials from around our site and we plan to make a beautiful textural representation of the space.
