Woodland traffic survey
-
When we went to the woods we made a traffic survey. Our group was watching the A701,a main trunk road leading south to the motorway from Scotland to England, and heading north to Edinburgh. It was between 11.10am and 12pm. In total we saw 38 cars,19 lorries, 8 vans, 7 bikes, 3 trucks,1 taxi and 1 police car, 2 tractors. There were a lot more vehicles then we thought considering it wasn't peak travel time. This road is alot busier than Bogsbank road that the others in our class surveyed, because there are a lot of lorries and vans delivering goods from Scotland to England. There are a lot of farms near by but we didn't see many tractors.
