Reflection time at Stubbylee Park
-
On a session at Stubbylee Park recently, participants from the MyPlace Hub reflected over their experiences on the project so far. While we made some balsam cordial, we talked about all the Discover, Explore and Conserve activities that we've done and the difference we have made to our section of the park. A favourite was the beautiful mini-beast hotel, which everyone also felt has made the most difference, by giving homes to critters! Everyone said how much they had enjoyed the foraging and cooking too. It was fun to learn about things we walk past all the time, like nettles and balsam, which can also be eaten. We also spent some time chatting about John Muir and some of the wonderful things he is known for. It lead us to talk about the lack of true wilderness in the UK and some of the places we go to "Get away from it all, and get back to nature".
